Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Texas. TX or compact RN license and current ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications are required, with a minimum of 1 year in PACU.

The 14-bed Main PACU unit operates with a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift. On-call is required every other night, and candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. Compensation includes housing options and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Main PACU unit located on the second floor of the main tower.
• 14-bed unit staffed with 16 nurses total.
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 6 staff nurses; night shift staffed with 2 nurses.
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2.
• Uses Meditech EMR.
• Shift runs from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
• Floating to Pre-Op may be required.
• On-call required once per night every two weeks.
• Unit covers procedures including endoscopy, hernia repairs, myomectomy, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, joint repair/replacements, lumbar fusions, trauma cases, and other general surgeries.
• Scrub color required is royal blue.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted.
• Team player attitude and willingness to help valued on this unit.
