Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN First Assist for the Operating Room who can handle multiple surgical specialties and holds CRNFA certification. The role focuses on first-assist duties, counts, and collaboration with the circulating nurse in a fast-paced OR setting.

You will work day shifts, 4x10 hour schedules, with travel between sister facilities as needed; CA RN license and Epic EMR experience are required, along with strong references and compliance with facility policies.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in hand at submission.
• BLS and CRNFA certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years scrub and circulating experience.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.
• Two professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting within the RNFA unit.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts (12:30pm-8:00pm); 4x10 or 3x12 schedules accepted.
• Requires proficiency in robotics, bariatric, general, colorectal, ortho/spine, vascular, urology, and gynecology surgical cases.
• Will perform surgical first assist duties including counting sponges and related items with the circulating nurse.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted site.
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Candidates residing within 50 miles may be accepted at a lower bill rate.
• Candidates should not contact facility staff directly except for agreed-upon interviews communicated through their recruiter.
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including location and dates, as part of consideration.
