Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN First Assist (RNFA) in the Operating Room with CNOR and spine/ortho/robotic surgery experience. CA RN license and RNFA credentialed preferred. This travel-friendly setting offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

The role requires on-site work in California, with a 5x8 schedule, on-call duties, and strong perioperative leadership. Candidates with licensure actions will not be considered.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• CNOR certification required.
• Completion of an approved RNFA didactic course.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RNFA.
• Minimum of 3 years scrub and circulate experience in an acute care facility.
• Current Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) required.
• Annual surgeon review required.
• Current professional liability insurance documentation required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Surgery unit within an acute care hospital setting.
• Rotating 5x8 shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with start times of 6:00 AM, 8:30 AM, or 10:00 AM.
• On-call required at least twice per week and every third weekend.
• Requires experience with primary spine, ortho, and robotic surgeries.
• Requires Epic EMR experience.
• Assist the primary operating surgeon in perioperative patient care during surgical procedures.
• Coordinate, manage, and delegate patient care as part of the perioperative team.
• Reports directly to the Director of Perioperative Services.
• Maintain clear, concise, and legible documentation and reporting.
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined.
• Candidates with any prior licensure action will not be considered.
• No radius restriction applies, and local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
