Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a WI RN First Assist for a day shift surgical role requiring RNFA certification and periodic call coverage.

The candidate must hold an active WI or compact RN license and have completed an accredited RNFA or first-assisting education program, with BLS within 6 months of hire. OR experience is preferred, and 6 weeks in length with travel perks offered.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Completion of an accredited RNFA program or recognized first-assisting education program.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• 1+ years of operating room/surgical experience preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting assisting surgeons during procedures
• Day shift schedule Monday through Thursday, 7am-5:30pm
• Call coverage required one weekend per month plus 7 additional call nights monthly
• 6-week assignment length
• Assist surgical team with preparing and organizing sterile supplies, instruments, equipment, and drapes
• Assist with patient positioning to ensure safety during procedures
• Provide visualization and assist with hemostasis and wound closure techniques
• Apply wound dressings and assist with drainage system insertion and securing
• Safely operate surgical equipment such as pneumatic tourniquets, electrocautery, and endoscopy equipment
