Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an Operating Room RN for a short-term assignment in a 325-bed acute care hospital in Washington. The role requires at least 1 year of OR experience and WA or compact RN licensure, with BLS/ACLS on hand at submission.

The position features a day shift of 3x12-hour shifts (9:00am–9:30pm), potential cross-facility travel, and comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), housing allowance, and travel/licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required.
• Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience required.
• Experience scrubbing in for trauma, general, orthopedic, and urology surgeries.
• Skilled in use of cell saver and electrosurgical units.
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol (time-out) procedures.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 9:00am-9:30pm.
• Epic EMR used, experience preferred.
• Floating between sister facilities nearby may be required.
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across a variety of surgical specialties including thoracic, general, orthopedic, urology, ENT, and trauma procedures.
• Participate in emergency management and fire safety protocols as part of OR responsibilities.
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius.
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility.
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated.
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment.
