Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room travel assignment in Texas. The role requires 2 years of OR nursing experience, active TX or compact RN license, and Epic charting proficiency. BLS and ACLS are mandatory.

Responsibilities include supporting a busy OR with General, Orthopedic, OB/GYN, GI, Colorectal, ENT, and Pain cases. Typical schedule is 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with call duties across three RNs and travel-specific policies in place.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Operating Room nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Operate in OR unit supporting General, Ortho, OB/GYN, GI, Colorectal, ENT, and Pain services.
• Day shift 6:30 AM–3:00 PM; 5x8 schedule.
• Call responsibilities; ~10 shifts per month with 3 RNs.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of experience, Epic charting, and a TX or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Skills and experience with procedures including thoracic, general surgery, orthopedic, urology, and ortho/spine cases
• Proficiency with equipment such as cell saver and knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit supporting General, Ortho, OB/GYN, GI, Colorectal, ENT, and Pain surgical services
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Call responsibilities split between 3 RNs, averaging 10 shifts per month
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for the travel rate
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
• Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
