Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level III Trauma Center in Texas. The role requires TX or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certification, and 2 years of OR experience. BSN is preferred.

Travel-friendly facility within 50 miles for rate calculations. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care across general OR, neuro, spine, ortho, robotic, and vascular cases, with shift options and full-time schedules.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TX or compact required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required (AHA).
• 2 years of OR experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate within a Level III Trauma Center OR.
• Care for general OR, neuro, spine, ortho, robotic and vascular cases.
• Shift options: 10AM-10PM; 11AM-11PM or 12PM-12AM.
• 4x10s or 3x12s schedules; full-time.
• Possible temp-to-perm opportunity.
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process across perioperative care.
• Administer medications and monitor effects.
• Document patient history, symptoms and care.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients and family.
• Delegate assignments to other care providers as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required (AHA only)
• 2 years of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• BSN preferred
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility for the travel rate

Responsibilities

• Level III Trauma Center operating room setting
• Patient population includes general OR, neuro, spine, ortho, robotic, and vascular surgical cases
• Shift preference of 10AM-10PM, with flexibility for 11AM-11PM or 12PM-12AM
• 4x10s or 3x12s schedules available
• Full time work schedule
• Possible temp-to-perm opportunity
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned surgical patients
• Administers medications and treatments and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and family members
• Delegates and makes appropriate assignments to other care providers as needed
• Returning employees who previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
