Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with 2+ years of General OR experience across multiple surgical specialties for a day shift assignment.

Active MD RN license and BLS required, plus travel experience and COVID vaccination. The role involves GYN, bariatric, vascular, ortho, neuro, and plastics cases with a day schedule from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM and facility-determined weekend/on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Active MD RN license required at submission
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent General OR experience
• Experience across GYN, bariatric, vascular, ortho, neuro, and plastics
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccination required; declinations not accepted
• Resume must explain employment gaps >30 days
• One supervisory reference from last 6 months and one from last 12 months
• OR-specific skills checklist required
• RN license verification (Nursys) < 30 days old

Responsibilities

• Work in the General OR unit of an acute or sub-acute care hospital
• Cases spanning GYN, bariatric, vascular, ortho, neuro, plastics
• Day shift 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Weekend schedule determined by facility
• On-call schedule determined by facility
• Be willing to work facility schedule with no restrictions
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care
• Ensure quality of nursing services delivered by self or team
• Use specialized knowledge and judgment for patient age and condition
• Local candidates accepted with no radius rule
• No scheduling restrictions for this role
• Up to 5 days off may be considered
