Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week evening-shift assignment at a Level 1 trauma hospital. Requires 2+ years of recent OR experience with strong neuro/ortho skills. 60-mile radius restrictions apply and a generous housing/travel package is offered.

The role involves circulating duties, 1:1 patient care, and EPIC EMR usage on an evening schedule with call requirements and potential shift extensions.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ND or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital (250+ beds) required.
• Experience with robotics (DaVinci) preferred.
• Strong neuro procedures (craniotomies, spine) experience required.
• Strong ortho experience required for case versatility.
• Experience with General, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic surgical cases.
• Experience with surgical navigation required.
• BSN not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital with 25 OR suites and 75–100 cases per day.
• OR RN circulating nurse role in specialty unit.
• 1:1 nurse to patient ratio.
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting.
• Equipment includes Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic/arthroscopy tools, Stealth navigation for neuro cases.
• Evening shift 1pm–9pm, Monday–Friday; may extend to 8–10 hours as needed.
• Rotates to day shift with staff; call 1–2 days/week and every 3–4 weekends.
• Rare floating to Broadway or South University campuses.
• 40 guaranteed hours per week.
• Sterile prepping, catheter insertion, sterile supply setup, patient positioning, charting, and equipment setup per direction.
• 8 hours of orientation provided; scrubs provided.
• All clinicians must badge in/out at the facility.
• Cannot accept candidates living within 60 miles; local travel rate applies 60–80 miles.
• Prior health system employment end date must be at least 6 months before submission.

• Strong Ortho experience required for case versatility
• Experience with General, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic surgical cases required
• Experience with surgical navigation required
• BSN not required for this position

• Equipment includes Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for Neuro cases
• Straight evening shift, 1pm-9pm, Monday-Friday
• Shifts may extend to 8 or 10 hours as needed, which is considered part of the regular shift rather than call back
• Rotates to day shift along with all staff
• Call requirements of 1-2 days per week and every 3-4 weekends
• Rare floating to Broadway or South University campus locations
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, positioning patients for procedures, documenting in the electronic record, and setting up/utilizing OR equipment as directed
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Ceil Blue scrubs provided
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Cannot accept candidates living within 60 miles of the facility
• Local travel rate applies to candidates living 60-80 miles from the facility
• Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
