Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN - Operating Room to circulate general and trauma cases at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL. Robotics experience preferred; strong trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic backgrounds are required.

Expect 8-hour day shifts (40 hours/week) with on-call rotations, a significant housing allowance, and travel/licensure reimbursements. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision, plus 401(k) and paid CEUs.

Qualifications

Active AL or compact RN license required.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Strong Trauma, Neuro, General, Vascular, ENT, Ortho, Gyn, Urology, Plastics, Breast, and Eye experience.
Robotics experience preferred (Mazor or DaVinci XI).
Minimum 2 years of experience for first-time travelers; 1 year is not eligible.
AL facility in a Level II Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

Circulating RN in Level II Trauma Center with 492 beds and 15 OR beds.
Back up Ortho, Neuro, ENT; 1:1 patient ratio; no pediatric patients.
Work with Cerner EMR; manage IV pumps, medication dispensing, and monitors.
8-hour day shifts; 40 hours/week; on-call rotation monthly.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room to circulate general/trauma cases with total joint, vascular, and robotics experience required in a Level II Trauma Center.

Requirements

Active AL or compact RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong experience required in Trauma (excluding burns), Neuro, General, Vascular (including Endovascular), ENT, Ortho spine, Ortho total joint, Gyn, Urology, Plastics, Breast, and Eye cases
Robotics experience preferred (Mazor or DaVinci XI)
Minimum 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers
Travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be considered

Responsibilities

Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center with 492 beds
Surgery unit with 15 OR beds, including 2 CVOR suites
General/Trauma specialty role backing up Ortho, Neuro, and ENT services
Minimal pediatric patient population, typically Ortho cases
1:1 patient ratio
Circulating RN role only
EMR: Cerner
IV pumps: Plum 360
Medication dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Spacelabs
8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, starting at 6:30 AM
No floating required
On-call rotation required: one weekday and one weekend per month (Friday 3p-7a, Saturday 24 hours, Sunday 24 hours) with 30-minute response time
2-week day shift orientation with buddy call expected during orientation
Support provided by ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and service line team leaders
Green scrubs provided
Parking available in a parking deck
Expected to work one holiday per contract per facility policy
Time off requests must be approved through the manager
Schedule cycle determined by department needs
First-time travelers welcome to apply with at least 2 years of experience
Previous perm staff must wait 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
