Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with 3+ years of OR experience and Level I/II trauma background for a Level 1 Trauma Center.

The role requires active CO/Compact RN license, BLS, and Epic EMR proficiency, plus prior travel assignment experience. You will circulate in a 41-OR unit, handle 1:1 patient care, and support fast-paced trauma cases across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

• Active RN license, CO or Compact.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required.
• Level I or Level II trauma experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• At least one completed travel assignment required.
• Experience with procedures across Gynecology, Plastics, Neurology, Trauma, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT specialties.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit with 41 ORs in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
• Occasional floating to 8:45 and 10:45 AM start times.
• Occasional floating to night shift, no more than 3 shifts per contract.
• Floating to other UCH ORs required as needed.
• Weekend coverage as needed per unit needs.
• On-call responsibilities approximately 3 shifts per 8-week schedule period.
• Case types include General, GU/GYN, Neuro, ENT, and Plastic surgery.
• Circulate craniotomy cases as part of unit duties.
• Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment.
• Candidates who completed a full year on assignment at this facility must wait at least one year before rebooking.
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates may be ineligible and are subject to internal eligibility review.
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting RTO during key holiday and high-census periods.
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
• Local candidates are accepted.
