Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in New Mexico. Candidates must hold an active NM or compact RN license, BLS, and have at least two years of large OR experience.

Strong scrub experience and a history of successful travel contracts are required. Epic EMR experience is preferred but not mandatory; compensation includes housing and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required (AHA/Red Cross/ARC).
• ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Minimum two years of current large OR experience.
• Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Operate OR unit in hospital with scrub responsibilities.
• 8-hour day shifts from 0630, Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week.
• Floating within 20 miles to other departments as needed.
• Provide direct patient-centered nursing care per physician orders.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed staff as assigned.
• Complete unit competency education per standards.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment, requiring strong scrub experience and a history of successful travel contracts.

Requirements

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Minimum two years of current large OR experience required
• Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Large OR environment requiring the ability to scrub in
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, starting at 0630
• 40 hours per week
• No scrub color requirement
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and standard protocols
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as assigned
• Complete population-specific and procedure-specific competency education per unit standards
• Must be a flexible team player accustomed to a fast-paced environment
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Former Presbyterian Health Services perm staff must wait one year before being eligible as a traveler
