Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Operating Room position in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of OR experience and holds PALS, BLS and ACLS certifications; DC RN license required.

This 13-week assignment features 10-hour night shifts (9p-7:30a) and a call requirement of one 12-hour shift every other weekend. You scrub and circulate, prepare the OR, and ensure aseptic techniques while staying within 50 miles of the facility.

Qualifications

• Active DC RN license required.
• PALS, BLS & ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required.
• BSN highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures.
• 13-week assignment with 10-hour night shifts (9p-7:30a), 40 hours per week.

• Prepare the operating room, assemble equipment and supplies, and ensure equipment functionality for procedures.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and coordinate intraoperative patient care plans with the team.
• Serve as communication liaison to patients, families, and operating team members.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility.

• Operating Room setting performing scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures
• 13-week assignment with 10-hour night shifts (9p-730a), 40 hours per week
• Call requirement of one 12-hour shift every other weekend
• Responsible for preparing the operating room, assembling equipment and supplies, and ensuring equipment functionality for surgical procedures
• Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques throughout operative procedures
• Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
• Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and operating team members
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility
