Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a TX or Compact license for a 13-week assignment in Texas. The candidate should have at least 1 year of OR experience and be proficient with Epic EMR.

Responsibilities include 3x12-hour day shifts, on-call weekends, and holiday coverage, with pre-employment Healthstream training required. Travel nurses are welcome; housing and travel reimbursements are offered, with local candidates within 90 miles eligible for a lower bill rate.

Qualifications

Active RN license (TX or Compact) required.
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required.
Epic charting system experience required.
State-issued ID required prior to consideration.
SSN and date of birth required for consideration.
Completion of Healthstream pre-employment and annual training modules.

Responsibilities

Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting.
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
On-call requirements include one full weekend per month and two weekdays per month.
Specific work days include Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Epic EMR experience required.
Experience across a broad range of surgical specialties is valued.
Familiarity with robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci and Mako is a plus.
Experience with specialized equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, Hana Table, and Steris systems is beneficial.
Participation in emergency management protocols may be required.
Holiday coverage is required.
RTO requests are limited to 5 non-consecutive days.
Candidates residing within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate.
