Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift assignment in Tennessee with at least 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience and prior travel experience.

The role requires active RN licensure (TN or Compact), ADN accepted, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and expertise with IV therapy, line management, blood products, and advanced neuro monitoring (ICP, EVD). Must be willing to travel 100+ miles and work 2 of 3 major holidays.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience; 3+ preferred
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment
• ADN accepted; BSN not required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Ventilator management, ICP monitoring, EVD, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care experience
• Driver's license copy required
• Vaccination status must be disclosed

Responsibilities

• Neuro ICU bedside care in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Patient ratio 1:2-3
• On-call and weekend shifts as needed
• Floating between units/campuses within 20 miles
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex patients
• Manage advanced neurological monitoring equipment (EVDs, ICP monitors)
• Willingness to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment
• Live at least 100 miles from the facility; no local candidates
• Ensure any time-off requests are submitted at consideration
• Prior travel experience required
• Must be separated from facility for at least one year if returning
• Travelers must be open to extended assignments

• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex patients, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Manage advanced neurological monitoring equipment such as EVDs, ICP monitors, and hypothermia protocols
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all fall within the assignment, or 1 of 2 if only two occur
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted under this strict radius rule
• First-time travelers will not be considered; prior travel assignment experience is required
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; late requests will not be honored
