American Traveler is seeking a Neuro ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Tennessee. Must have ICU experience and current ACLS/BLS. Active RN license (TN or Compact) and US SSN/DOB required. 16-bed Neuro-ICU unit with 12-hour day shifts and weekend coverage expectations.

Responsibilities include critical care procedures, Meditech documentation, and potential float to med/surg as needed. Travel-friendly role with housing and licensure reimbursements often provided.

Qualifications

Active RN license (TN or Compact) required.
Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
Minimum 1 year ICU experience.
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.
US SSN and DOB required for consideration.
One professional reference required.

Responsibilities

Work in a 16-bed Neuro-ICU/NICU unit.
Patient ratios typically 2:1, with 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing needs.
Unit secretary staffed during dayshift with occasional nurse extern support.
Uses ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV1000 equipment.
Documentation completed in Meditech.
12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule, with self-scheduling and manager adjustments to balance coverage.
Contract labor floats first, including to med/surg when staffing needs arise.
Provide attentive and compassionate care to critically ill neuro patients and their families.
Assist with procedures including central line insertion, arterial line insertion, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions.
Dress code requires navy scrubs (tops and bottoms).
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel assignment.
Local candidates will not be considered.
