Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN with 2+ years of Neuro Critical Care experience for a rotating shift at a large academic medical center.

Responsibilities include caring for patients with severe brain injuries, strokes, and neurosurgical post-ops, interfacing with other organ systems, and rotating weekends and on-call duties. Epic EMR proficiency is required; Gong-standards apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required across state lines (or MD).
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Minimum two years of Neuro Critical Care experience.
• ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Experience at large facilities (500+ beds) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for NCCU/neuro ICU patients with brain injuries, stroke, tumors, or neuropathies.
• Interface between neurological and other organ systems in care plans.
• Maintain care across rotating 7a/7p shift schedules.
• Work 36 hours per week with weekend rotation requirements.
• On-call approximately 2 times per 6 weeks; holiday coverage as needed.
• Float to related units (ICU/IMC) as skill-set allows.
• Provide post-operative neurocritical care and use Epic EMR for documentation.
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday monthly.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN with 2+ years of Neuro Critical Care experience for a rotating shift assignment at a large academic medical center.

Requirements

• Active RN license, Multi-State/Compact or Maryland license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
• ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience at a comparable facility size (500+ beds) preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU), a Neuro ICU
• Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and nerve or muscle diseases, many post-op from neurosurgical procedures
• Role requires interfacing between neurological and other vital organ systems
• Rotating 7a/7p shift schedule
• 36 hours per week with no guaranteed hours
• Required to work 3 of every 6 weekends
• On-call required approximately 2 times per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required as needed to areas of similar skill set, including ICU and IMC
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide specialized post-operative neurosurgical and critical care to neurologically complex patients
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Strong candidates preferred given the academic medical center setting
