American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN with neuro proficiency for a night shift assignment in California. Active CA RN license and travel nursing experience are required, with 3+ years ICU experience and neuro ICU expertise.

Responsibilities include 1:2 nursing in a high-acuity neuro population, Epic charting, and potential cross-facility float with short notice. Lodging and per diem arrangements provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years ICU RN experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Neuro ICU proficiency and critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Care for neuro ICU patients in high-acuity setting.
• Maintain 1:2 patient ratio on night shifts (3x12h).
• Document in Epic; participate in on-call rotations.
• May float to Summit or Herrick campuses with short notice.
• Provide multidisciplinary care and ensure patient safety.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with neuro patient proficiency for a night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and travel experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 3 years of RN ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficient and comfortable managing neuro ICU patients
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experienced in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP
• Experience with CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care preferred
• Experience titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Responsibilities

• ICU setting with a high volume of neuro patient cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Every other weekend required plus additional shifts as needed by unit
• On-call as needed
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick Campus with as little as 1.5 hours notice
• Shuttle service provided for floating assignments
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with a focus on neurological cases
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team in a high-acuity environment
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Holiday coverage required for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted
• Re-orientation required only if returning travelers have been separated for 6+ months since their last shift at this facility
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• All compliance documents must be submitted 10 days prior to start date
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
