Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum assignment in Washington, Seattle area. The role requires high-risk obstetric experience and Epic proficiency.

The ideal candidate holds an active WA RN license, BLS and NRP, and has at least 2 years of high-risk obstetric care. The position involves 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, census surge management, and travel benefits.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license in hand at submission.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in high-risk obstetric care.
• Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement).
• Experience with high acuity postpartum care and census surges required.
• Care of cesarean section and vaginal delivery patients, postpartum hemorrhage management, episiotomy/incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and administration of Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin.

Responsibilities

• Work in a large volume, high census Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum unit.
• Care for a diverse, high-risk obstetric patient population.
• Standard couplet ratio is 4, with potential for census surge management.
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours (traveler's choice), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• 13 or 26 week assignment length available (traveler's choice).
• Required to work 6 weekend days per contract.
• Floating required to Issaquah Campus Postpartum, Edmonds Campus Postpartum, and Labor and Delivery for the 2nd hour of recovery.
• Additional floating may be required between sister facilities within the state.
• Provide comprehensive postpartum care including monitoring for hemorrhage, substance withdrawal, and high-risk complications.
• First-time travelers welcome to apply if they meet the 2 years of high-acuity postpartum experience requirement.
• Former permanent Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3 month separation, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process.
• Local candidates accepted within a 50 mile radius at a lower bill rate.

• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
