Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN for a 27-bed Family Center in Maryland. This travel role requires acute care, antepartum and postpartum experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

You will provide couplet care, newborn assessments, lactation support, and fetal monitoring. Day shifts are 7:00 AM–7:30 PM with no on-call duties and occasional winter holiday coverage. Local candidates are welcome; housing allowance and licensure reimbursements are available.

Qualifications

• Active MD RN license or Compact RN license required.
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience.
• Acute care RN experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Current BLS and C-EFM certifications required.
• NRP certification required.
• Antepartum and EFM experience preferred.
• Experience with any charting system required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 27-bed Family Center unit specializing in Couplet Care, Newborn Assessment, and Antepartum Care.
• Primary focus on Postpartum, Newborn, and Antepartum patient populations.
• Float to Labor & Delivery to support LDRP needs (excludes L&D triage or circulating duties).
• Antepartum and postpartum cross-training expected as part of the role.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• No call requirements.
• Block scheduling is not available.
• Provide couplet care and support for postpartum, newborn, and antepartum patients.
• Duties include newborn assessments, breastfeeding/lactation support, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and discharge teaching to parents.
• Support high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients including cesarean section, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage cases.
• Assist with fetal monitoring, including external and preferred internal fetal monitoring.
• Must work two of the three winter holidays.
• Smoke-free facility.
• Accepts local candidates with no radius rule affecting pay rate.
• RTO requests must be submitted with application and are reviewed on a per-case basis.
