Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment in Washington. Requires at least 2 years NICU experience, NRP certification, WA license, and Epic EMR proficiency.

The role covers Level II NICU care, deliveries, and potential float within the facility. Expect 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) with holiday commitments and travel housing reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active WA state or compact RN license required at submission.
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Experience with neonatal feeding and NG/OG tubes.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Reliable references covering recent NICU experience.
• SSN and DOB must be disclosed for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Care for Level II NICU admissions and normal newborns ≥32 weeks.
• Attend all deliveries including high-risk cases.
• Utilize CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30.
• Float within the facility as needed.
• Limit mother-baby care unless competent.
• Provide direct neonatal care within NICU setting.
• Attend high-risk and routine deliveries with care team.
• Commit to 3 of 5 major holidays.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and NRP certification.

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at submission
• Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in neonatal gastrointestinal care including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
• Experience with placement/management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Proficient in neonatal medication administration and dosage calculations, including emergency medications
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Level II NICU unit caring for admissions and normal newborns 32 weeks gestation or greater
• Attends all deliveries, including vaginal, cesarean, and high-risk deliveries
• Utilizes CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Floating required as needed within the facility
• Not expected to care for mother-baby couplets unless already competent in this skill
• Provide direct neonatal care within a Level II NICU setting
• Attend high-risk and routine deliveries as part of care team responsibilities
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Former Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months to qualify for a travel assignment
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local radius rules
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
