Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Mother/Baby RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring at least one year of recent Mom/Baby experience and NRP/BLS certification. The unit is a 70-bed hospital with a fast-paced team and no on-call requirements.

Ideal candidates will have active TX or compact RN license, NRP and BLS, and will demonstrate strong lactation support and neonatal care skills in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current NRP and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Mother/Baby experience required.
• NICU or postpartum experience preferred.
• Experience with Mother/Baby care, lactation support, phototherapy, blood sugar checks, and IV antibiotics preferred.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration.
• One professional reference required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Mother/Baby unit with 70 beds and ~120 staff.
• Day shift team includes charge nurse, resource nurses, admit nurses, RNs, and PCTs.
• Patient ratio of 1:3 couplets (6 patients per nurse).
• Uses CPN EMR system.
• Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Tuesday start dates.
• 3-4 weekend shifts per schedule; no on-call requirements.
• May serve as resource nurse; rarely floats.
• Provide Mother/Baby nursing care including lactation support, phototherapy, glucose monitoring, and IV antibiotics.

• Minimum 1 year of recent Mother/Baby experience required
• NICU or postpartum experience preferred
• Experience with Mother/Baby care, lactation support, phototherapy, blood sugar checks, and IV antibiotics preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

• Hospital-based Mother/Baby (Postpartum/OB) unit with 70 beds and approximately 120 staff
• Day shift team typically includes 1 charge nurse, 2 resource nurses, 2 admit nurses, 7-15 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Patient ratio of 1:3 couplets (6 patients per nurse)
• Uses CPN EMR system
• Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with Tuesday start dates
• 3-4 weekend shifts required per schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Rarely required to float, but may serve as a resource nurse when needed
• Provide Mother/Baby nursing care including lactation support, phototherapy, blood sugar monitoring, and IV antibiotic administration
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills are valued on this unit
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Local candidates will not be considered under any circumstances
