American Traveler is seeking an experienced Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN for a night shift assignment in Texas. Requires 2+ years of relevant and travel experience with TX or compact RN license.

The role involves 3x12 hour nights (19:00-07:00) on a community hospital unit, with a 1:7 patient ratio and weekend coverage as needed. Must be within 50 miles of the facility but not a local candidate; Epic charting experience is preferred. Travel reimbursement and housing may be provided.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS and STABLE preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience.
• Travel nursing experience required.
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital preferred.
• Proficient in IV therapy and blood product administration.
• Experience with central lines (CVC/PICC) preferred.
• Postpartum and newborn care knowledge including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding.
• Experience with newborn care including cord care, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching.
• Knowledge of medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and antiseizure medications.

Responsabilités

• Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum unit in a community hospital.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00).
• Patient ratio of 1:7.
• Weekends required as needed by the department.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Provide comprehensive care to mother-baby couplets, including antepartum, postpartum, and Level 1 nursery patients.
• Support newborn care needs including circumcision site care, car seat education, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management.
• Assist with pain management including epidural, PCA, and opioid administration.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted.
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing.

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Mother-Baby/Postpartum care required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) preferred
• Proficient in postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care, breastfeeding instruction, and couplet care
• Experience with newborn care including cord care, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching
• Knowledge of medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and antiseizure medications
• Experience with high-risk postpartum conditions such as hemorrhage, cesarean section, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
