American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum role in North Carolina. Travel nursing experience and strong obstetric/medical-surgical skills are required.

Active NC or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP/NCI-Online certifications are expected. Night shifts (19:00–07:30) with 1:4 patient ratios and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NCI-Online.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy and blood product administration.
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum and maternal/fetal care settings.
• Newborn assessment and discharge teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum unit of a hospital setting.
• Care for medical-surgical and maternal/fetal patients.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift 19:00-07:30 with 4x12 hours.
• Work every other weekend and 2 on-call calls in 6 weeks.
• Use Meditech for charting and provide postpartum and newborn assessments.
• Administer pain management and phlebotomy services as needed.
• Support breastfeeding and baby-friendly protocols.
• Circumcision care and parent education.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum position requiring prior travel experience and Medical-Surgical and Maternal/Fetal patient care skills.

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NCI-Online
• AWHONN Beginner certification preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience in IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with antepartum, high risk antepartum, postpartum, and special care nursery/Level II settings preferred
• Skilled in newborn assessment, cord care, discharge teaching, and metabolic screening
• Experience with postpartum care including cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy induced hypertension
• Experience with NST and external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum unit of a hospital setting
• Floor cares for both Medical-Surgical and Maternal/Fetal patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• On-call requirement of 2 calls within a 6-week schedule
• Uses Meditech charting system
• Provide comprehensive care to mother-baby couplets including postpartum and newborn assessments
• Perform fundus/lochia/perineum care, bladder assessment, and Foley catheter insertion as needed
• Support breastfeeding instructions and baby-friendly protocols
• Assist with circumcision care and provide related parent education
• Provide care for newborns with conditions such as hypoglycemia, low birth weight, and large for gestational age
• Administer pain management and phlebotomy services as required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted, subject to manager approval
