Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position in Connecticut.

The ideal candidate holds a CT or compact RN license, has at least 2 years of ICU experience (1.5 years considered for Level I or travel), and is proficient with Epic charting and critical care nursing. This role covers ICU duties such as ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and line management.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I or travel experience)
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience caring for ventilated patients, including HFNC and suctioning
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titrating vasoactive drips
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade
• 1 reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a 10-bed Medical ICU within a short-term acute care hospital
• Operate in a Level II Trauma Center with 426 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Float as needed and required to work every other weekend
• Use Epic charting system for documentation
• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients
• Free parking available on-site
• Facility is part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital to be eligible
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemptions
