Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position in Massachusetts. Candidates must hold an active MA RN license and have ICU experience, ACLS certification, and be comfortable with Meditech charting and critical care responsibilities.

The role is 3x12 hour nights (19:00–7:30), with every other weekend and holiday, on-site at a hospital within 30 miles. Local candidates at travel rate may be considered.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Preferred Meditech charting experience.
• Preferred charge nurse experience.
• Preferred experience in teaching, community, and Trauma Level I hospital settings.
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration.
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory therapies (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC).
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation.
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction.
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols.
• Experience obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG.
• Preferred experience with arterial line management, procedural sedation, and Swan Ganz monitoring.

Responsibilities

• ICU setting with a 1:2 patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• No call requirement.
• No floating requirement.
• Unit orientation includes two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor.
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including those requiring advanced hemodynamic and respiratory support.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
• Local candidates accepted at the same travel rate.
• Must reside within a 30 mile radius of the facility.
• Scrubs of any color are accepted.
• Expect to work some holidays.
• Minimize time off requests, especially during the first two weeks or for full weeks during the assignment.
• Interview availability required at time of consideration.
