Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Kentucky. The role requires active KY or compact RN licensure, BLS and ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years in ICU, with familiarity in CPAP/BiPAP, chest tubes, central lines, and therapeutic phlebotomy.

Shift runs 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with three 12-hour shifts per week and every other weekend. Travel housing allowance and benefits are provided, along with RN-team support and opportunities for extended

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification renewed annually.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
• CPAP/BiPAP, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Chest tubes, NG tubes, wound care, central lines, transfusions, and ventilators experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for patients in a 10-bed ICU with 2:1 and 3:1 ratios.
• Document care in Meditech Expanse.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and BiPAP management.
• Assist with paracentesis and central line care.
• Float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED as needed.
• Collaborate with CNCs, RNs, PCTs, and externs.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and KY/compact licensure.

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification required annually
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with CPAP and BiPAP management, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy preferred
• Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusions, and ventilators preferred

Responsibilities

• 10-bed ICU unit with patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1
• Unit staffed by Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), RNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
• Equipment includes Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, ventilators, and glucometers
• Documentation via Meditech Expanse
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend required
• May float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED
• Perform telemetry monitoring, physician-led paracentesis, BiPAP management, and therapeutic phlebotomy
• Unit supported by a director, manager, and clinical educator
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and collaboration with providers
• Navy or gray scrubs required as dress code
• Unit uses GroupMe for team communication and celebrations
• Many travelers have extended contracts due to excellent teamwork and support
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
