American Traveler, LLC. CT-based opportunity for an experienced RN in a Surgical ICU traveler role within Yale New Haven Health System. Requires active CT/compact license, BLS and ACLS, and at least 1 year SICU experience.

The position offers day shifts (3x12), 1:2 patient ratios, and floating to Milford Campus. Epic EMR experience is required; vaccines, housing allowances, and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license CT state or compact required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year SICU experience required (2 years preferred; 1.5 years with level I trauma or travel experience).
• Epic charting experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Surgical ICU (SICU) unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds.
• Level II Trauma Center.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM).
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required, including float to Milford Campus.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT state or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of SICU experience required (2 years preferred; 1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, arterial and central line care
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management
• Experience with ETT and NT suctioning
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• 1 professional reference required

• RTO of up to 7 days can be auto-approved
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the hospital
• First-time travelers not considered for this role
