Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring EPIC EMR experience and NIHSS certification.

Responsibilities include telemetry care, 3x12 night shifts, patient ratio 1:6, and post-procedure monitoring. Benefits include housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and per diem.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TN or a compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Tele experience.
• Minimum 1 year EPIC EMR experience.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, line care including PICC.
• Blood product administration, CBI, dialysis management preferred.
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac drip management.
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management preferred.
• Oxygen administration and respiratory care including nasal cannula.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit setting.
• Night shift 3x12 hours, 1900-0730.
• Every other weekend coverage as needed.
• Floating to similar units as needed.
• Patient ratio 1:6.
• Uses Omnicell medication system.
• Post heart cath monitoring and bedside procedures (dialysis cath, thoracentesis, I&D).
• Direct patient care including monitoring, medications, and procedural support.
• Orientation every Monday with annual compliance requirements.
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules due within 48 hours of login credentials.
• First-time travelers considered based on experience.
• Residence >100 miles from any facility for full travel pay; reduced rates for 90-99.9 miles.
• Night shift travelers must live at least 50 miles from campus; reduced rates for 50-99.9 miles.

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration, CBI, and hemodialysis management preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management preferred
• Experience with oxygen administration and respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen tanks

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on need

• Night shift travelers for this specialty must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus, with reduced rates for 50-99.9 miles and ineligibility under 50 miles
