Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift in Connecticut. A CT or compact RN license is required, with 2+ years of RN experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Proficiency in EPIC EMR is essential, with supportive teams and a fast-paced medical/surgical/telemetry unit. The role features 3x12-hour night shifts (7p-7:30a), with shared charge nurse support and 24/7 hospital services.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for acute medical/surgical telemetry patients in a busy unit.
• Perform respiratory treatments as part of standard care.
• Use EPIC EMR for orders and documentation.
• Work 3×12-hour nights with 7p-7:30a schedule.
• Provide care with 1:7-8 patient ratios on nights.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, pharma, and respiratory team.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit
• General medical patient population with a variety of common diagnoses
• Patient ratios of 1:7-8 on nights
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7:30a
• Every other weekend (EOW) required, including full weekend coverage with Sundays
• Every other holiday required
• Charge nurse support shared with another unit
• Nurse aide support at 1:8 ratio
• CPAP only for vent patients; no true ventilator management
• 24/7 respiratory therapy support, with nurses performing respiratory treatments
• 24/7 hospitalist coverage in-house
• IV team available 7am-8:30pm, with nurse resource support 7pm-7am
• 24/7 pharmacy support
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical surgical/telemetry unit
• Perform respiratory treatments as part of standard nursing duties
• Scrub color is Caribbean blue, with black or white shirts allowed underneath and black or Caribbean blue pants
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this assignment
• Minimal RTO requested, with no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Blocked scheduling is not available for this position
