Aufgaben

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients with higher acuity cases
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend coverage
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include stroke/TIA, seizure, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, sepsis
• Unit performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Uses Omnicell and Epic EMR
• Floating to other units based on census and competencies
• Focus on patient experience within a stroke/TIA unit
• Orientation Mondays with annual compliance
• Pre-assignment testing and modules within 48 hours of credentials
• First-time travelers not considered
• Night shift travelers must reside 50+ miles away

• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, substance withdrawal management, heparin and insulin administration, cardiac drip management (no titration), dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients along with higher acuity med-surg cases
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Unit performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Epic EMR
• Floating to other units required based on census needs and demonstrated competencies
• Highly focused on patient experience within a stroke/TIA specialized inpatient unit
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
