Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week, day-shift assignment in Oregon. Active OR RN license and recent telemetry experience required. The role features 3x12-hour shifts (0700–1930) with a 1:4-6 patient ratio and occasional floating to nearby West Valley Hospital.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon RN license required.
• BLS certification through AHA required.
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Minimum 1 year MS/Tele/PCU within last 3 years required.
• Neuro trauma stepdown experience preferred.
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
• Experience with telemetry, rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmias required.
• Experience with cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone and Nicardipine required.
• Non-invasive airway management and peripheral line care competency required.
• Rapid response activation experience preferred.
• Isolation precautions and PPE experience required.
• Epic EMR charting experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit within Magnet-designated Level II Trauma teaching hospital.
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts 0700-1930.
• RN to patient ratio 1:4-6.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating to nearby West Valley Hospital.
• Epic charting system used.
• 36 or 48 hour per week scheduling options.
• 13-week contract length.
• Care on a newly opened 30-bed Surgical Neuro Trauma Care Unit (SNTCU).
• Unit serves diverse neuro trauma conditions.
• Hospital transitioning toward Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU/IMCU.
• Royal blue scrubs required.
• Free on-site parking provided.
• RTO >2 weeks requires facility approval.
• Block scheduling not accommodated.
• Floating to West Valley Hospital may be required; refusing may cancel.
• Local candidates accepted.
• Former employees ineligible for assignment for 6 months after termination.
• First-time travelers not accepted.

• Provide care on a newly opened 30-bed Surgical Neuro Trauma Care Unit (SNTCU) located on the fourth floor of the hospital's new Building A expansion tower
• Unit serves patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical neuro trauma conditions
• Facility is transitioning toward becoming a Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU/IMCU unit in coming years
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free on-site parking provided
• RTO requests exceeding 2 weeks require facility approval and must be finalized prior to consideration
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Floating to West Valley Hospital may be required; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
• Local candidates accepted
• Former employees of the health system are ineligible for assignment until six months after termination date
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
