Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift contract in Iowa. Applicants must hold an IA or compact RN license, with IL licensure required at the time of offer. Cardiac experience, BLS, NIHSS, and Epic EMR experience are essential or preferred as indicated.

This role targets a 3x12 schedule with 36 hours guaranteed weekly and is based in a regional hospital's Med Surg/Telemetry unit. Travel eligibility and housing support are included as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Active IA RN license or compact RN license required; IL license may be required at time of offer.
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Cardiac experience is essential for this Med Surg/Telemetry role.
• Epic EMR experience required for charting and orders.

Responsibilities

• Medical inpatient unit in a regional hospital setting.
• Night shift, 3x12s; 1845-0700 start times.
• Every other weekend required; no on-call requirements.
• 36 hours guaranteed per week; floating to other units as needed.
• Manage cardiac drips per protocol (Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, DKA insulin, Amiodarone).
• Provide Med Surg/Telemetry care in a Level 3 trauma center.
• Work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless unit is closed.
• Limited time off during designated holiday blackout periods.

Requirements

• At least one completed travel contract preferred
• Must not have been employed by UnityPoint Health in the last 12 months
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Medical inpatient unit in a regional hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12s, 1845-0700 start
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Floating required
• Unit utilizes drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro, Non-DKA insulin, and Amiodarone
• Provide nursing care on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit utilizing cardiac drip protocols
• Facility is a Level 3 trauma center
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Limited time off requests allowed during designated holiday blackout periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Past UnityPoint Health employees are subject to facility separation policy restrictions
• No local candidates considered; must be at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
