Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment in Illinois. Requires 1–2 years of experience and an active IL RN license; BLS/ACLS required, PALS/TNCC preferred. Local candidates accepted.

You will monitor cardiac telemetry, manage IV drips and wound care, and provide care for CVA, orthopedics, and renal patients. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements, plus day-one benefits, are included.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required by orientation or proof of application.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS/TNCC preferred.
• 2 years Med/Surg Tele experience; 1 year acceptable with background.
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, line care and PICC management.
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula and ABG interpretation.
• Able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Glucometer exam required prior to start (unlimited attempts).

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting.
• Night shift schedule (3x12, 18:45-07:15).
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring with on-unit responsibilities.
• Manages cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration preferred).
• Cares for CVA, ortho trauma, total joint replacement and renal failure.
• Provides feeding tube and wound care/wound vac management.
• Performs IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration.
• Charting system experience accepted; CPSI experience preferred.
• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for telemetry patients.
• Manage patients with isolation precautions and PPE.
• RTO must be submitted with profile; holiday restrictions during Christmas/New Year.
• First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted.
