American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment in Ohio. Candidates must hold an active Ohio or Compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, with 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry experience and cardiac medication competency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Staff Med/Surg Telemetry (26 beds, 4-5:1) on night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM).
• Utilize MediTech EMR for patient documentation and care planning.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care per age-specific criteria.
• Support and educate LPN/PCT and unit secretaries as needed.
• Maintain Navy blue scrub dress code and adhere to travel policy.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring cardiac medication competency and NIHSS certification.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) verified through Nursys
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Competency with cardiac medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex) including titration and application required
• Telemetry competency with strong knowledge of heart rhythms required
• Critical thinking skills to recognize and intervene on changes in patient status required
• Knowledge of stroke signs/symptoms and appropriate intervention required
• Strong communication skills required
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to Med Surg/Telemetry required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit (3 North) with 26 beds
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Uses MediTech EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 36-hour weekly guarantee
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to units within scope of practice and skill set
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries
• Navy blue scrub dress code
• Candidates requesting more than 7 days off or more than 50% of holidays off may experience extended processing timelines
• Local traveler policy applies with an 8% rate reduction for those living within a 45-mile radius of the facility
