American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in a Surgical Specialty Unit requiring at least 24 months of Med/Surg or stepdown experience.

The unit is 46 beds in a hospital, with 12-hour nights, patient ratios up to 1:4/5, and floating across Med/Surg areas. Epic EMR experience plus drips and equipment handling are required; driver’s license is necessary for consideration.

Qualificações

• Active Iowa (IA) or compact/multistate RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience with drips (amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone).
• Equipment experience with chest tubes, JP drains, 3-way foley, NG tubes.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• Supervisory performance evaluation or reference within past 24 months preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Surgical Specialty Unit (SSU) within a hospital setting.
• 46-bed unit caring for Med/Surg and all surgical cases except ortho/spine.
• Patient ratios of 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday, 36 hours per week.
• Floating required across Med/Surg units throughout the hospital.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg and surgical patients excluding ortho/spine.
• Work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless unit is closed.
• Limited time-off requests during late November and December holidays.
• Scrub colors limited to black or blue.
• Weekend work as scheduled.
• First-time travelers are welcome.
• Local candidates within 50 miles not eligible.
• Past UnityPoint Health employees restricted from working travel assignments at UPH facilities within 12 months.

• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH facilities within 12 months of separation
