American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg role on nights requiring telemetry strip-reading skills and at least 2 years of experience.

Unit 7 West features 32 beds (12 Stepdown, 20 Floor) in a Level 1 Trauma hospital with 1:3 Stepdown and 1:4-6 Floor ratios. RNs will read telemetry, administer drips, and document in EPIC EMR. Must hold WV or compact RN license, BLS, and be able to work 12-hour nights including weekends and holidays.

Competenze

• Active WV or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Acute care hospital experience required.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips required.
• Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Acute care Stepdown and Med-Surg unit (7 West) within a Level 1 Trauma hospital.
• 32 total beds, 12 Stepdown and 20 Floor beds.
• Ratios of 1:3 on Stepdown and 1:4-6 on Floor.
• Typical Med-Surg patient population including chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, and overflow cases from other services, including hospice patients transitioned to GIP Hospice.
• Drips administered on Stepdown including titratable and set-rate medications; Floor patients receive PCAs and heparin.
• Telemetry monitoring in place; RNs must be able to read strips in coordination with dedicated telemetry monitor techs.
• EPIC EMR used.
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7:30a.
• 2 weekends required per schedule.
• Holiday coverage required per perm staff holiday schedule.
• Floating required to any Floor or Stepdown unit.
• Provide direct patient care for Stepdown and Med-Surg patients, including telemetry monitoring and drip management.
• Unit is budgeted for a dedicated charge nurse and has House Supervisor support at all times.
• Nurse aide staffing runs with 4 aides when fully staffed for 32 beds.
• Royal blue scrubs required.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 required, with medical or religious exemption requests subject to approval.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.
• Previous perm employees must have a 2-year break before reapplying.
• Previous travelers who worked a full year at this facility system must take a 2-year break before returning.
• Cumulative experience within the health system applies toward the 1-year traveler work limit.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position.
