American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN for a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown/MedSurg unit in WV. Requires stepdown and telemetry experience and WV or compact RN license.

Responsibilities include patient care in a mixed stepdown/med-surg population, nights (7pm–7am) with weekend/holiday rotation, and floating with supportive supervision from charge nurses and supervisors on-site. EPIC EMR is used for documentation and care planning.

Qualifikationen

• Active WV or compact RN license required.
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Stepdown and MedSurg/Tele experience required.
• Cardiac experience preferred.
• BSN not required.

Aufgaben

• Provide care on a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown/MedSurg unit (22 stepdown beds, 10 floor beds).
• Maintain nurse:patient ratios of 1:3 on stepdown and 1:5 or 1:6 on the floor.
• Care for cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, medicine, and hospitalist med-surg cases.
• Work night shift 7pm–7am with rotating weekends/holidays.
• Self-scheduling via Kronos; flexible block scheduling.
• 3–4 Saturday/Sunday pairs, 2 Fridays, 2 Mondays per 4-week schedule for night shift.
• Holiday coverage for one eve and one day per holiday period.
• Floating required; rotational floor assignment ~1 of every 3 shifts.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Uses EPIC EMR.

• Acute care hospital setting on a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown/MedSurg unit (22 stepdown beds, 10 floor beds)
• Nurse:patient ratios of 1:3 on stepdown and 1:5 or 1:6 on the floor
• Patient population includes cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, medicine, and hospitalist med-surg cases
• Night shift schedule (7pm-7am) with rotating weekends and holidays
• Self-scheduling available via Kronos with flexible block scheduling
• Weekend requirement of 3-4 Saturday/Sunday pairs, 2 Fridays, and 2 Mondays per 4-week schedule for nightshift
• Holiday coverage required for one eve and one day shift per holiday period (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Floating required, with travelers typically first to be pulled; rotational pull to floor assignment approximately 1 of every 3 shifts
• No call or standby requirements

• RNs responsible for titrating drips such as heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amio, and dobutamine
• Dedicated charge nurse and 3 house supervisors on-site at all times
• Clinical associates support the unit, typically at a 1:16 ratio overnight
• Respiratory equipment used includes NC, CPAP, BiPAP, and HFNC, with dedicated RT support for trach-to-vent patients
• Tele monitoring handled by dedicated tele techs using Phillips monitors
• Provide direct nursing care to stepdown and med-surg patients, including titrating medication drips and monitoring cardiac conditions
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Royal blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of WVU facilities (100 miles for Princeton Community Hospital) to be considered a traveler
• Local candidates are not eligible for this position due to radius requirements
• Previous WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine for more than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
• Former permanent staff at Princeton Community, Potomac Valley, or Garrett Regional are not eligible to return as travelers
• All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for shorter assignments
