American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position in Texas. Requires 2 years of Med/Surg Tele and travel nursing experience; active RN license in TX or compact state, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and several critical care skills.

Responsibilities include caring for cardiac telemetry, CVA, and medical-surgical patients with 1:5-6 ratios; night schedule 3x12s, on-call, and weekend coverage. Travel allowances and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg Tele required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, line care, PICC and port access.
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube care, ABG interpretation.
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response/code team activation.
• Heparin protocols, vasoactive drips, and PCA experience.
• Wound care, isolation precautions and PPE experience.
• Onsite drug screen and CBD caution prior to arrival.

Responsabilités

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting.
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, CVA, and general medical-surgical cases.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with potential for 4x12.
• One on-call day per 6-week schedule.
• 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks.
• Charting system experience required; Altera preferred.
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry, CVA, and general medical-surgical patients.
• Candidates within 50 miles considered case-by-case.
• RN/LVN local radius of 150 miles.
• Must be separated from current perm staff for at least 1 year before traveler return.
• Onsite drug screen with marijuana testing; positive results cancel.
• Avoid CBD products prior to arrival.
• Non-billable orientation modules 6-8 hours during orientation.
• Hard document due date Thursday 2pm CST before start.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration


• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS


• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg Tele required


• Prior travel nursing experience required


• Community hospital experience preferred


• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management


• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation


• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation required


• Experience with heparin protocols, cardiac/vasoactive drip management, and PCA required


• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE experience required


• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting offer

• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results


• Candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to arrival


• Non-billable orientation modules average 6-8 hours and are completed during orientation


• Hard document due date is Thursday 2pm CST prior to start, with some flexibility case-by-case
