American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown unit in Morgantown, WV. The role requires strong MedSurg stepdown experience and the ability to titrate drips and read telemetry strips.

Responsibilities include 32-bed unit care, patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4, and titration of medications per MD orders. EPIC EMR is preferred; BSN is not required. Driver’s license copy is required for consideration.

Competenze

• Active WV or compact RN license is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MedSurg Stepdown.
• Must be able to titrate drips and interpret telemetry strips.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• BSN not required.
• Unexpired driver’s license copy required for consideration.

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Strong MedSurg Stepdown experience required
• Must be able to titrate drips and interpret telemetry strips
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care Stepdown unit with 32 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for stepdown assignments or 1:4 for combo assignments (2 stepdown/2 floor or 3 stepdown/1 floor patients)
• Common diagnoses include post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients
• Titration of drips with specific parameters per MD orders, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix (no vasopressors)
• RNs interpret and chart patient rhythm with assessment every 4 hours or more often during medication titration
• Unit uses centralized telemetry monitoring at the nurses station and in patient rooms, with Centralized Telemetry interpreting and placing EKG strips into charts
• Unit supported by 1 Charge Nurse, 3 House Supervisors in-house, and 3-4 CNAs per shift
• Respiratory equipment includes BiPap and trach care, no ventilators
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekend requirement of 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Sat, Sun, Sat)
• Holiday coverage required if needed
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating is very rare
• Complete 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Candidates must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with exemption forms available for medical or religious reasons
• Candidates may only be submitted to one position within the WVU system at a time
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Previous perm employees must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• Previous travelers who completed a full year must have a 2-year break before returning
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
