Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele role in Michigan. The unit is a 46-bed surgical unit with telemetry, serving trauma, bariatric, abdominal, and amputation cases with medical and cardiac overflow.

Requirements include an active MI RN license, current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of one year RN experience. Cerner experience preferred. Travel housing allowances and benefits are provided.

• Possibly work every other weekend and every other holiday; no call requirements.

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MI RN license and 1 year of experience on a 46-bed surgical unit.

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• 46-bed surgical unit (4N) treating trauma surgery, post bariatric, post abdominal, post amputation, and urological cases with medical and cardiac overflow
• Patient ratios typically 1:5-6, potentially up to 1:7 during call-ins
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No call requirements
• Cerner charting system used
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
• Care for post-surgical patients including trauma, bariatric, abdominal, and amputation cases with cardiac telemetry monitoring
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Required to complete onboarding modules within the first week of the assignment
