Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Nights position in Michigan. Requires an active MI license, BLS/ACLS, and at least 2 years Med/Surg with PCU float and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities include 12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), no on-call, and a 13-week assignment with regular patient care, education, and discharge planning under unit leadership.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required; no compact license accepted.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience.
• Experience floating to PCU; telemetry proficient.
• Must be able to read and interpret heart rhythms; pass a dysrhythmia test.
• Skills checklist current within 1 year; 2 supervisory references in last 2 years.
• License verification via LARA and/or Nursys required.
• Covid vaccine required, exemptions allowed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care on Med/Surg with float to PCU.
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under supervision.
• Develop and update individualized care plans within required timeframes.
• Educate patients and families on condition, meds, and self-care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning.
• Maintain infection control, med administration, and safety protocols.
• Participate in ongoing education and unit performance initiatives.
• Limit RTO requests to no more than 5 days during assignment.

• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required
• Experience floating to PCU required
• Proficient with telemetry monitoring
• Must be able to read and interpret heart rhythms
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to Med Surg/Tele specialty required for consideration
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration
• Active Michigan license verification via LARA and/or Nursys required for consideration
• Covid vaccine required, exemptions allowed

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Required to float between Med Surg and PCU
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• No call responsibilities
• 13-week assignment
