Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with 1-2 years of experience and BLS/ACLS certifications. The unit features telemetry in a 46-bed Med/Surg area, with a 3x12-hour night shift and patient ratios designed for safe care.

The role includes float coverage to Surge or ED as needed, weekend/holiday shifts per unit need, and no on-call duties. On-site therapy and security support are available to ensure patient safety and timely admissions/discharges.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 1-2 years of relevant nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg telemetry unit with 46 beds (40 acute, 6 intermediate)
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Patient ratios of 5–6 during days, 6–7 at night
• Float as needed to Surge Unit or ED to manage Med/Surg patients
• Weekend/holiday coverage as needed, up to every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Admission/discharge nurse and patient ambulator support provided
• Respiratory therapy and security on-site 24/7
• No IV team or RRT on site
• Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg telemetry patients
• Collaborate with on-site support staff including admission/discharge nurse and patient ambulator

• Float as needed to Surge Unit or Emergency Department to manage Med/Surg patients unable to reach the floor
• Weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs, up to every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Admission/discharge nurse and patient ambulator support available
• Respiratory therapist and security on-site 24/7
• No IV team or RRT team available
• Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg telemetry patients
