Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in Texas. Requires at least 1 year of hospital experience and prior travel contract experience.

Active TX or Compact RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS is required, plus Epic EMR proficiency and telemetry skills. Expect a 1:5 patient ratio, 3x12 hour days, every other weekend, and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Active TX or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience.
• At least one prior travel contract experienced.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and telemetry skills required.
• Experience with blood product administration and central/PICC line care preferred.
• Cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation preferred.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year in the last 3 years.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center hospital.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM).
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating between units and possibly sister facilities.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• Solid navy blue scrub attire required for licensed nursing personnel.
• Additionally disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility with dates and locations.
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50-mile radius.
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within 50 miles.
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer time off requests may not be granted.
• First-time travelers are not being considered.
