Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift in Colorado. Requires CO or compact RN license, 2+ years acute care, BLS, and Epic charting experience. The assignment includes a 3x12 schedule (19:00–07:30) with a 1:6 patient ratio and weekend coverage within a 6-week cycle.

Travelers may float to sister facilities, and Navy blue scrubs are required. Local applicants within 75 miles may qualify for local rate. First-time travelers accepted if requirements are met.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching/community hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, line care, blood products
• BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy management preferred
• GI, GU/renal, neuro/psych care experience preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a 24-bed hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• 1:6 patient ratio, may flex up

• Float within scope to meet facility needs

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
• GI, GU/renal, and neuro/psych care experience preferred, including CBI, CVA, and TBI management
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills, including telemetry experience
• Comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a 24-bed hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30, various days of the week
• 1:6 patient ratio, which may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• No on-call requirements
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including floating to sister facilities
• Uses Epic for charting
• Provide care for Med/Surg Tele, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and GI patient populations
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted as long as experience requirements are met
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for a local rate
• Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates may be ineligible for consideration
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during high-census dates
• No blocked scheduling requests allowed
• Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
