Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shift in North Carolina. Requires RN license (NC or compact) and at least 1 year of MS/Tele experience. CPR, ACLS, CPI, and BLS certifications preferred. Meditech experience is a plus, and ability to manage insulin/heparin/Lasix drips is expected.

The unit is 42 beds with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, broad case mix including cardiac and COPD patients. Travel-friendly role with weekend/holiday coverage and no on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• CPI, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg Tele experience.
• Meditech charting experience preferred.
• Proficient with insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips.

Responsibilities

• Care for a 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit.
• Cares for cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, general surgery, orthopedics patients.
• Possible IMCU coverage based on census.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM.
• Weekends and holidays required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Floating to like or lower acuity units as needed.
• Provide nursing care to a diverse Med-Surg Telemetry population.
• Block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.
• No RTO for Christmas Eve/Day.
• Candidates must reside outside 50-mile radius to qualify as a traveler.
• Monday orientations for new start dates.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
