Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level 1 trauma Emergency Department in Massachusetts. Candidates must hold an active MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, and have Level 1 trauma center experience. Epic EMR experience is required, with no floating or charge duties.

The role involves caring for Med/Surg Tele boarding patients with a typical 5:1 ratio, averaging 40 patient visits per day. It requires a 12-hour night shift and rotating weekends, with housing allowance and travel

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level 1 trauma Emergency Department, caring for boarding tele patients and requiring an active MA RN license.

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Prior experience with boarder patients in the ED required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass Day 1 tele/ECG and medication testing within 2 attempts during compliance

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting within a Level 1 trauma facility
• Caring for Med/Surg Tele boarding patients awaiting inpatient beds
• Averaging 40 patients per day in this capacity
• Typical patient ratio of 5:1
• 12-hour night shift schedule, working every other weekend
• Uses Epic EMR
• No floating or charge responsibilities required
• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients boarding in the Emergency Department
• Weekly orientation schedule with any color scrubs permitted
• Required vaccinations include COVID (plus booster) and Flu, with medical exemptions allowed
• Must be separated from Beth Israel Lahey Health for at least 6 months and in good standing to be considered
• Minimal time off requests will be considered during this assignment
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
