Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift at a Level II Trauma Center in Connecticut. Requires 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience, active CT or compact RN license, and BLS.

Travel nursing experience is required along with Epic EMR proficiency. Expect 3x12 hour nights, occasional weekends/holidays, and relocation housing benefits. Travel to Yale New Haven Health System facility with 426 beds.

Qualifications

• Active CT RN license or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response.
• Work in a 34-bed Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 1900-0730.
• Floating required as needed.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Facility is part of Yale New Haven Health System and offers free parking.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons.
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be considered.
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler.
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved.
• First-time travelers are not preferred.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift role at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active CT RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access, central line blood draws, and PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and peripheral line care
• Competency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry monitoring experience both on-unit and remote preferred
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code team protocols
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Respiratory care skills including oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, and tracheostomy care preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Responsibilities
