Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Chemo-Certified Oncology RN for an outpatient infusion center in California. A CA RN license, BSN, BLS, and chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) are required, with 1–2 years of oncology nursing experience and outpatient chemo exposure.

The role involves 4x10-hour days (7:30am-6pm), 1:6 patient ratio, Epic EMR, IV therapy and cytotoxic spill management, and no weekends or on-call. Travel experience preferred; housing and licensure support offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care including chemotherapy administration, infusion management, and symptom monitoring for oncology patients.
• Maintain patient safety and monitor for adverse reactions during infusions.
• Coordinate care with the multi-disciplinary team in an outpatient infusion center.
• Ensure accurate documentation in Epic EMR and adhere to facility policies.
• Manage port access/maintenance and IV therapy per chemo protocol.
• Ensure no weekend or on-call requirements per schedule.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Chemo-Certified Oncology RN for an outpatient infusion center position requiring a CA RN license and prior oncology chemo experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• 1-2 years of oncology nursing experience required, with 1-3 years preferred
• Outpatient oncology experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, infusions, and port access/management
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and cytotoxic spill management
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Experience managing chemotherapy-related symptoms and side effects

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology and infusion center setting treating all oncological and hematological diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule of variable 4x10-hour shifts, 7:30am-6pm with a 30-minute lunch
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• No floating required, subject to change based on facility needs
• Epic EMR used
• Provide direct care including chemotherapy administration, infusion management, and symptom monitoring for oncology patients
• Dark blue scrubs provided
• At least one previous travel assignment required
• Keep requested time off under 7 days per assignment when possible
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former UCLA contractors, travelers, or permanent employees must have a 12-month separation and be cleared by Talent Management before reapplying
• Candidates currently active with any University of California entity are not eligible for consideration
