Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN with ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification for a 3x12 day shift assignment in Oregon. The role requires an active RN license (Compact or Oregon) and current BLS, plus ONS certification and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Epic EMR experience is required; transplant/CAR-T experience is preferred. A vehicle is required for assignments. The position involves a 1:4 patient ratio in a short-term acute care hospital, day shift hours 7:00

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) in hand at submission.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T therapy preferred.
• Skills in chemotherapy administration, IV therapy/infusions, port/central line care, and management of oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression).
• Experience with symptom management (altered mental status, GI symptoms, edema, nausea/vomiting, neuropathy).
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Oncology unit in a short-term acute care hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
• Block schedule required.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating between units and sister facilities based on skill set.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy via multiple routes including continuous infusion and oral administration.
• Provide care and management of oncologic emergencies and treatment-related complications.
• Perform chest tube care, neutropenic precautions, and comprehensive symptom management for oncology patients.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Providence facility travelers: reside outside 50-mile radius; local candidates accepted at standard travel rate.
• Scrub color is any color; No parking fee.
